ASA No. 682 Automatic, ASA small hot blast lantern w/o nr.
ASA war der Markenname der Wuppertaler Laternen- u. Metallwarenfabrik A. Sartorius.
Der Markenname ergab sich vermutlich einfach aus dem Anfangs-
buchstaben des Vornamens und den ersten beiden Buchstaben des Nachnamens.
Der Markenname ASA wurde nur für die Sturmlaternen verwendet.
Die Firma existierte bis ca. Mitte der siebziger Jahre.
Von unter dem Markennamen ASA hergestellten Sturmlaternen sind bisher nur die Nr. 682 Automatic 5''' sowie eine kleine Mischluft-Laterne mit 3'''-linigem Brenner bekannt.
Die ASA Nr. 682 wurde in den fünziger und sechziger Jahren viel von Bundesbahn, Bundespost und Bundeswehr eingesetzt.
ASA was a brand of the Lantern And Metalware Factory A. Sartorius, Wuppertal/ Germany.
The brand name possably results of the A. from the pre name and the two beginning letters of the name Sartorius.
The brand ASA was used for the hurricane lanterns only.
This firm seemed to exist up to the middle of the seventies.
From under the ASA brand made hurricane lanterns are only two types known, Nr. 682 Automatic cold blast lantern with 1/2" burner and a very small hot blast lantern with an only a 3/8" burner.
The ASA Nr. 682 was used by the German Rail, by the German Telephone Service and by the German Army during the fifties and the sixties.
